Now, I am very new to the 3D printing game. So maybe my opinion on this topic isn’t valid since I have little experience in the field. However for the longest time I’ve wanted one but the multi thousand dollar price tag deterred me for the longest time. Then a deal on Banggood caught my eye there was a printer on their site for one hundred and sixty dollars for an i3 Prusa clone, now of course after shipping it came to around one hundred and eighty, but that was still an extremely good price.
So after the wait I got the kit to my apartment, the printer wasn’t assembled and had to be put together as I had expected. There were a few glitches in the assembly, but once it all came together the printer worked like a charm. I didn’t like the quality of the prints, but was able to modify the printer to make the quality better.
I have used way more expensive printers before at school, the difference in quality just doesn’t seem to be that great to me that I would even consider buying one of those fancy makerbots. So if you are looking for a 3D printer and don’t have the money to drop on one those expensive machines, remember there are options for cheaper ones, while you may need to make modifications to the printer to get the quality, it is possible to get quality prints from a cheap printer.
