Magandang buhay💛
Productive hump day for us. The hubby took care of the walkway on the east side of the house after the awning had been removed. It was front yard work for me. Transplanting the dragon fruit into larger containers (I upcycled the 16L paint buckets, rather than throwing them away), sweeping the mess, pruning the citrus trees, etc. My fingers got pricked a million times (nah, I'm just exaggerating), even when I was wearing protective gloves!
But yeah, the short trees are thriving, and their thorns are mighty long and sharp, albeit it's the dry season. They made me exclaim "aray, aray, aray," (ouch ouch ouch!) the whole time, lol! The hubby had to use the saw to remove some of the bigger branches. The trim was needed to give them a bit of shape, for they will serve as hedging too. I was actually thankful that they kept surviving even without care, and they are adding a bit of green to our small yard.
Meanwhile, my little boy was sulking a bit when we didn't join his Dada go back to DD this evening.
We just had to stay until the weekend because there are many things to organize, and I didn't want to leave a mess around the house. So yeah, it's still gonna be hectic over the next few days.
Sometimes, I find it a little funny that he knows how to show how unhappy he is. It is nice, though, so we try to console him. Thank goodness he forgives quickly.
Anyway, it almost rained today. The sky was dark as if a heavy rain was looming. We felt a faint pitter-patter around 5 pm, but then, they stopped. I remembered that last year, the rain poured during the town fiesta parade. So I'm betting (with myself), it will rain on Saturday (the day of the parade for this year's fiesta)😁
It's crazy that during incessant rain, we often hope it will stop. And now that it is the dry season, we keep wishing the rain would come. We can be really annoying, lol!
