The verification is to head off Hivewatchers thinking you are dodgy. The Twitter link still seems broken from a couple of places on your site. You linked to your LinkedIn, but I don't see a mention of your Hive profile there. There needs to be a link back or at least a mention to prove you control that profile.

Now it's up to you to market yourself as you see fit. An introductory post with the #introduceyourself tag is fairly standard. Spamming comments is not a good idea, but commenting on people with similar interests can pay off. Hive is a bit different, so have a look around to see what others are doing. Big rewards can be hard to get, but the community is fairly small.
