Spreading the love on #Steemit
A while ago I may a decision to change the way I applied the default Self-Voting on #Steemit by simply reducing my self-vote from 100% to 40% allowing the remaining 60% of the voting to be spread across more users, predominately to those users that are promoting #Steemit as well as those users that are just starting on the Platform.
This voting pattern was picked up by Matt @Starkerz who has been talking about this issue for sometime now and even brought it up at SteemFest in November of last year.
Self-Voting is ok for minnows who are just starting off and any encouragement to support the minnows gets my vote.
What I am concerned about though is the concentration of #STEEM in those accounts that have substantial amounts of Voting Power.
It is this concentration of Steem Power, that unless it is spread across the Community, I believe will starve the scalability and growth of the Community.
Spreading the votes is like Oxygen to the Community
I guess the simple way to explain what I am trying to put across is that spreading votes is like Oxygen to the Community..!!
For me, spreading the love on #Steemit is vital for long term scalability and growth of the #Steemit Community and one that I would encourage those with high Steem Power to support this distribution of wealth.
