There's more to come!
...Planning for some Seedlings.
My brother often jokes about all the images I post lately, of bags of dirt!
That's the biggest problem with March and April: Nothing's Growing, really. At least, not outside... so, the result is, big bags of dirt, and more bags of dirt. Over and over... Ironically, this is actually one of the most important parts of the growing season: Planning and Setting It All up.Above: Last year, the area above, where all those Fabric Grow Bags are now, had all my Pepper plants. And the tomato were where I am standing for the photo, and even more behind me. The problem is, the sun rises from behind me, to the left, and then sets off to the top right of the image. AND, most tomato grows MUCH taller the pepper plants. Mid way thru the season, the peppers were being shaded by tomato, and by end of season, the peppers only got a few hours of later afternoon sunset. Mind you, my tomato did fantastic, but, I planned for this year, to try and find a better solution.
Above: this is mid afternoon, and as you can tell, the sun has passed it's peak and is heading for the sunset, in a few hours. This view, is behind the other image above. NOTE: Onions are the first planters the sun encounters and that's perfect, they simple will not block sun. And in the high heat of the day, the tomato will shade them, helping to give them some sun relief.
Above: Sun rises from left an! sets on right!

Below: between my herb shelf left, and my new planters for Rainbow Chard, the Raspberry is starting to bud up, and green up.
the first, large Grow Bags the sun hits will be shorter onion. Then, against the onion will be Pepper. Along trellis arch is a row of empty Grow bags the will eventually have Cherry, grape and pear tomato. Not seen, is grow bags that will be immediately to the left of the cherry tomato.
Next is the trellis. then, the wood box, on the other side of trellis, which will house cucumber. Missing is a row of grow bags for tomato along the trellis. At the back of the right garden, is planters for carrot. the larger beefsteak and slicing tomato along the right. Missing are containers on the other side of the herbs shelf for Zucchini and Squash. I am sure changes will happen... I will keep you informed. Obsessively keep you informed.

Looking ahead, some notes on seedlings to plant:
- About 25 pepper plants
- 60 or so tomato.
- a dozen cucumber
- another dozen for zucchini and Squash.
- a few melon, some random herbs, and more.
I am still mulling a pair of blueberry, but shall see.
