Episode 26: My Solution To Social Anxiety
I attended my grandfather's funeral service yesterday and it was quite a beautiful experience.
Not only because of the fact that we were celebrating my grandfather and the full life he lived...
But also because I was able to reconnect with many relatives whom I have not seen for some time.
My father's side of the family has broken up over the years due to various disputes and it was truly inspiring to see how my grandfather's death really brought us all together.
As much as death and loss can be difficult, ironically enough, it certainly does bring a sense of life to things.
I will be honest, I was a bit anxious about attending this event.
I was anxious because 1) I didn't know what to expect at all, considering our family's current state of affairs, and 2) In the past I've really struggled with social anxiety in large social settings (especially involving family).
Thus, with those two things at play I knew it was going to be an interesting experience
And interestingly enough...
The experience played out in a completely different way than I was expecting.
I found that I was very much present and engaged for the entire time.
I felt at ease and comfortable in my skin, which was truly a wonderful place to be.
I've discovered why I felt the way I felt, and in this video, I wanted to share with you what made the difference for me!
