Life is made up of different social circles.. Whether we like it or not we are involved with people, no man is an island. No matter how much of a loner you are or how terible your social life is, life will keep reminding you of social activities and other people's social life thanks to social media..
There are times when you feel like you don't fit in. It could be in your work place, school or even in the family.. I guess everyone have felt this way in their life time. And because humans are social beings, not fitting in can affect us psychologically. Here are some reasons why you don't fit in, knowing this can help you correct it.
People change
Remember when you had friends in high school and college, it felt like you will be friends forever but people change. They get married and you are still single, they move to another city and meet new friends and suddenly you feel like you don't fit into their life anymore.. It's normal, just accept the fact that people change, including yourself and it's time to let them go.
You move with the wrong crowd
If you hang out with the wrong people, you will definitely not fit in. To find the right people, you need to be yourself, that's the only way you can attract like minded people. People that understand you alot.
You are not being open
If you don't open up, you can't attract your kind of people. You need to open up so that people will know the type of person you are and chose to stay with you or not. But if you don't open up, the wrong people will be around you and you definitely won't fit. Be open!
You worry about what people say
When you worry about what people think about you, it makes you uptight. Loosen up, people will say what they will say..
You've not acecepted yourself
You are unique in your own way. If you don't accept your uniqueness, people won't also and you won't fit in. The earlier you accept yourself the better for you and your friendships.
You are shy
If you are shy and not able to chat with people, then you probably won't fit in. Learn to start conversations with people.
You feel Judged
When you feel that people are judging you even when they are not, it will make you shut them out and not connect with them. People who feel judged always think that everyone hates them, this could be as a result of low self esteem. Work on yourself and be open.
When you feel like you don't fit in your work place, try and reach out to people, start healthy conversations, be nice to people, soon you will begin to fit in. Be yourself always, that is the only way you can find your kind and the crowd you should belong to. Always know when to let go so you don't hold on to what is not meant to be. Reach out to your loved ones always..
