Mentality
The mentality is a concept very similar to the one of mental scheme, it includes everything that there is in the mind, as much in the intellectual aspect, as in the spiritual and moral one.
The elements that make up the mentality are the ideas, principles, attitudes, feelings, projects and goals that all people have.
The origin of the mentality
The mentality is similar, as I see it, to a great river formed by many tributaries. Its origin is basically in our inner life. Thus, the mentality is a consequence of our experiences, of the knowledge that comes from the direct or indirect teachings, from the responses of acceptance or rejection that we give to social stimuli; it comes above all from the moral basis that we give to our existence.
In a word, our mentality is based on what we are and what we expect or want to be. In this sense, we are all those who create our mentality, which of course can be improved.
Mentality and life
The influence of the mentality in life is so great that the behavior is nothing but a consequence of the principles enclosed in their mentality or set of mental schemes. Therefore, mentality and life tend to be identified
To convince us, from the previous statement, let's see the uniformity, or at least the similarity, that comes from acting of people from the same culture, from the same regions or even from the same family. In them, in a general way, the mental schemes or mentality are very similar.
Even the most irregular behavior, including crime, has its explanation in the way of thinking of the people who carry it out; thus, for example, the thief justifies theft in his interior and excuses the circumstances that could turn that fact into homicide. Another example, already to finish, is that of the teacher for whom it is difficult to separate his personal life, which we usually call private, from his professional life, from his essence of being a teacher.
