Success doesn 't come easy for anybody.
If it was, then everyone would be at the top 1% of their game.
In the end, it all comes down to certain things and habits we do that pushes us further rather than closer from our goals.
IT 'S ALL ABOUT THE MINDSET
This concept is pretty obvious, but you might be surprised about what is about to be said next.
While doing some research recently, I found out about two distinct types of mindset: the fixed mindset and the growth mindset. Depending on which one you use to shape your goals, the outcome will be completely different.
It 's important to take into account that there is a majority of people who are not even aware of the mindset they are using, and as to why it stands in the way of their goals.
- FIXED MINDSET : I could explain this one by comparing it to having a hand of cards.
Some people think they carry a royal flush, while some others think of themselves as a one-pair hand.
And then, you might wonder where Im going with this. It means that individuals who have a fixed mindset, see their personality traits, abilities, and qualities as things they CAN 'T change about themselves. It 's either you 're good at something or you 're not, and you can 't do anything about it.
On one hand, the ones that praise themselves into thinking they are "intelligent" or " good role models", believe that it is something that is FIXED; the result of talent and not effort.
So all this time, you see them talking about their strenghts, but in no way, you see them developping their so-praised ability.
The same principle applies for the ones who use their fixed mindset against themselves. They believe that failure is a part of them they can 't change. They use very negative words to describe their inability to succeed. Also, they tend to rationalize their failures by using excuses.
"I can 't understand maths."
"If I had studied 3 mores hours, I could have gotten the passing grade." (From being a student, I heard this one way too many times!)
- GROWTH MINDSET : Individuals with this type of mindset are strong believers that we can all succeed and be good at things, by developping our ablities with the use of ACTIONS and EFFORTS. They see each failure as a new opportunity to succeed and to work on it. They focus on the PROGRESS and not the OUTCOME.
What 's important to realize, is that we can all achieve our deepest desires and dreams.
Each one of us.
Shifting your perspective will bring so much light and positivity into your journey.
To be successful and great at something, you have to start somewhere. And be able to fail and not be labeled by it and let it define you.
EXCUSES!!!
This one has to be the one I hate the most.
We love to blame our circumstances.
I could name all the excuses I hear the most often, but the one that falls first on the list would definitely be the "I don 't have time" one. First things first, I want to start by saying that everyone has 24 hours in a day. Bill Gates found the time. So why can 't you?
And then, it gets worse because we start to justify ourselves: ' 'I have a full-time job, responsibilities, kids, boyfriend....''
This is what 's stopping you. There is no such thing as putting the blame on our conditions and our ''personal case''.
We always think we are the exception to the rule. "No but with me, its different...."
We are not.
This is where picking the right mindset is a game changer.
There is ALWAYS a way to get around things that are stopping you from succeeding.
Whether it is a question of time, money, lack of experience, distractions, background, name it...
There is always a way.
There 's no such thing as being lucky.
You are the creator of your own luck.
