So this is my area for the next 14 days. A bed, a desk, a computer chair, an uncomfortable couch, a small empty fridge, a shitty Keurig machine, and a bathroom. How exciting.
I get to look outside at all the cars whizzing by. We're supposedly in the middle of a pandemic, but you wouldn't be able to tell from looking outside. It's just business as usual when you're in the middle of a city.
The paintings in this room look like they were painted by a 3-year-old. Seeing that they are actual paintings and not prints, I wonder what this hotel paid this artist for them. I also wonder if they are in every room or are there better ones in other rooms and I just got the ones done by a staff member's toddler.
The science behind staying inside for 14 days can't be very strong to protect anyone's health. No direct sunlight, no fresh air, no exercise. My window opens only a few inches but I guess that's better than nothing. There is no fresh air intake otherwise and I wonder how much air comes in from around the door? And if air does come in from the door, who's to say someone who's sick on the other side doesn't walk by on my last day here and infect me. Or maybe it will be the driver that takes me to the airport when I'm done.
I binge-watched an entire season on Netflix today. I'm not sure how many times I'll be able to do that. I really didn't have the energy for anything else, though. The coffee isn't sufficient enough for my caffeine addiction and the headaches have already started. If anything good comes from this, it will be that I'll be able to detox from my morning caffeine fix and be done with this dependency. I've tried that a few times in the past, but it takes days to get over the headaches and I've failed at all previous attempts.
Maybe this time can be different and I'll finally be able to shake it.
The meals they deliver outside my door aren't bad, at least so far. The lunch was two huge sandwiches with a pear for dessert. The large lunch combined with not actually spending any energy and having a splitting headache cause me to not eat supper. At least I'll have a spare meal now, in case another meal isn't sufficient.
