I'm not a fan doctors in general but I would have had that wound stitched.
I once cut the top off my finger right down to the bone and took a bit of fingernail with it in the process (alcohol and sharp knives are a deadly combo) I went to the hospital and waited there for 6 hours and was told I'd have to wait at least another 3 hours. So I went home and treated it myself.
I used Pelargonium (many people call them Geraniums)leaves as a non stick dressing and it healed up super quick and never got infected. The Pelargonium leaves are covered in tiny & very soft hair like structures and they never stick to a wound. They release geranium oil as your body heat warms them up and geranium oil has anti microbial properties so it helps with the healing. I just rinse them and put a paper towel on the side that's not touching the wound (folded to a suitable shape) and then tape it all to the wound.
After 6 hours or so you just redo it with a fresh leaf. I use them on all my wounds for myself and my family. If the kids get a cut they ask if they can have a leaf to put on it. Everyone I've shared the tip with has been amazed at how fast the wounds heal. As far as I'm concerned the pelargonium leaves are better than anything modern medicine has to offer as far as non stick wound dressings go.
