I am not a big fan of politics, politicians or government, on pretty much any level.
I also don’t like executive orders because they resemble dictatorship where an individual is ordering something from a high place of executive power. Rather than through a designated process.
NoW of course in my opinion pretty much all politics and politicians are corrupt and the voting system doesn’t actually truly work, however it’s “supposed” to work.
If whoever is in power can just simply make executive orders whenever they see fit, what is the point in having voting in process and chains of laws bills and orders being discussed and voted on and put into place properly?
However with that being said I do kind of like this executive order, not that it makes me agree anymore with the power and ability and process of executive orders.
I like this order though because one of the other things about this country I do not like is the corrupt and violent police state.
Anyone who is halfway smart and basically educated is well aware of police violence brutality and corruption in this country.
This executive order aims to set much higher and stricter standards or how police are trained so that they are trained to D escalate and to handle situations without violence or especially lethal force.
It also is banning the use of choke holds in any situation that is not life-threatening.
It is also introducing screening process whereabouts when the police are hired their backgrounds are getting properly checked so that they are not corrupt police that Have been let go of other forces that are now just joining the new forces which again has been happening very regularly for a very long period of time.
This is one of the worst and most dangerous aspect, is that the bad police are often times being let go of multiple police forces for horrible behavior and then simply being rehired at a new police force Thus perpetuating Further crimes.
So all in all while I do not care for politicians, politics or police or executive orders I am fairly happy with the direction that this one has the potential to go. If It’s truly integrated properly, it will greatly decrease the horrible side effects of police officers.
