It is a kind of instructional quote as you can get an instruction which you need to follow. The writer says if he somehow meets any difficult situation, he will try to change the surroundings in such way that the problem will vanish.
Our life is full of many problems and we face many issues daily. If we will stay strong and will try to resist those problems we will be able to overcome that situation.
If we see this quote in other words when you have any dream or life goals, everyone does have them. You should stay committed and try hard to achieve them. When you get problems in achieving your goals you should adjust your sails and reach your destination.
