Today I have a whole bunch of "happy new month" photos for you, instead of the usual one and the reason is that the morning walk of the dog turned out to become an unplanned 3 hours hike to a nearby gorge!
The path that we took is part of an old mule road that used to connect our village with a small port and the rest of the world! Once very significant, today it is reclaimed by the wild vegetation and until a few days ago it was extremely difficult to cross. So although we pass very often from the beginning of the path, we never enter.
But a couple of weeks ago the village's association took over the task to clear the path and today we saw that the work was done! Plus a very happy doggy and the perfect for walking whether and our little adventure began!
When this route was still in use all the land around it was cultivated but today all the fields are turning wild and the chances to admire the nature's beauty are more than plenty!
When I took with me my camera this morning I was hoping for one nice image and instead of that I found myself with an endless colorful collection!
This old spring was source of life for the gardens around here and host of many stories for fairies! Some old people still tell that stories as facts but some others claim that it was made up in order to repel potential thieves of their gardens! In any case the result of the human labor is almost gone but nature's beauty always finds its way!
The first picture of the post is my entry for Qurator's Photo Friday #69. You still have time if you want to enter!
The pictures were taken by me with my Canon EOS 7D and a Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens attached.
Thank you for reading and if you want to know more about me you can check out my introduction post.
