Comtoyou Racing is a Belgian team in this years World Touring Car Cup. But now they also have their eyes set on the Wolrd Rally Cross championship. The Belgians are in talks with EKS to possibly purchase 2 of their used Audi S1 Supercars. Comtoyou Racing are running Audi A1s (picture) in the Andros Trophy. Their most known drivers are Benoit Treluyer (has won Le Mans 3 times) and Nathanael Berthon (GP2).
This is what Comtoyou Racing team manager Francois Verbist had to say to Motorsport.com:
"We are looking to do a deal with EKS to have the cars with us and I think in the next two weeks we will be able to say more about that. We want to first finish Andros Trophy because we are fighting for the championship in the Elite class.”
“Our goal is to be involved in World RX and to be long-term in the championship. We’re in contact with Mattias Ekstrom and Klas Boman(CEO EKS) about running two cars. I would say we are not [there yet] with drivers or full the package. We’re really working hard to make the deals happen, but it’s a bit too early if we will be a full team, single entries or whatever.”
I will be exciting to see if they can challenge the EKS-team with their old cars!
