I set out this month with a personal goal to post every day this month. It is now the evening of May 11th, but early May 12 by UTC reckoning. However you slice it, I'm only about 1/3 of the way through, and facing writer's block. So I'm writing about that. Lemons, meet lemonade.
I have a lot of partial posts, but no ambition to complete them. Photo editing, reference links, and so forth feel like way too much work. I have not made any new meals I want to document. I'm tired of writing about library Karens and playing whack-a-mole with their eternal whataboutism.
Oh, look. a link. That's enough for one post, I think.
I have no good anecdotes about library patrons, although I did run some books to a few residents of the nearest retirement home. Most of them are either uninterested in reading or suffering too severely from dementia to care, but I have a few loyal bibliophiles. One old fellow gets a western novel once a month. An elderly lady enjoys thrillers from the likes of Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Another woman wants more traditional mysteries. Finally, a fourth resident likes cartoon collections. I also sometimes bring a DVD or coffee table book for the facility as a whole.
I have paid a considerable sum for repairs to my main mode of transportation. Almost a month's earnings for a part-time librarian isn't much, but I fear it's only the start of what it will take to keep it properly roadworthy. I'd buy something else, but another 20+ year old rig is all I could afford without incurring debt, and the unknown repairs it would also bring along. It's just part of playing catch-up in the endless war against entropy either way, but this rig is at least somewhat of a known quantity.
Now, I sit and watch shipwreck documentaries online as I wind down and write this post. Cheerful stuff. But I seem to have managed to bang out something resembling content. As always, this post has been generated by a human being. If I fail my monthly post goal, it'll be my own fault, and I'm not about to plagiarize a robot just to keep up the flow of content. I'll borrow someone else's picture, though. Huh. I guess that's two hyperlinks and a cropped image. I'm done writing for sure.
