Rammstein, the well-known rock band, is one of the most successful cultural exports of Germany and especially appreciated in the United States. But this article is about the small community Ramstein-Miesen district of Kaiserslautern in Rhineland/Germany. Here you have one of the 700 worldwide US military bases. Actually it is the largest outside the United States. Airplanes, military activities and sensitive information are controlled from here. You could also say that Ramstein is the hub of all drone flights.
The base serves as a rifle scope of the American weapon drones. Although the drones destroying targets in Africa or the Middle East do not come from Germany, they are remotely controlled in Ramstein. Thousands of people are killed each year, civilians or soldiers. And without the sending of huge air tankers from Ramstein refueling fighters in the air, many military activities would not be feasible. Germany thus directly supports these military actions. It has recently been agreed that the military base will be expanded to 85 million Euros.
What about the German constitution (Article 26) and the former idea that from German territory should never again start war activities? Would the wars in Iraq or Libya have been possible without Ramstein? Germany is the stooge in the dirty war business of the USA.

Already in 1952 the Germans had the right to close foreign military bases on German territory, but that did not happen. At the end of last year, the leftwing party Die Linke asked about the closure of Ramstein in the German Parliament. It seems futile because Germany is a strong and faithful vassal of the Imperial US. However, this motion makes it publicly visible where Germany stands in the world and shows at the same time its hypocritical talk about peace in the world.
Ramstein has to be closed, better today than tomorrow!
