"If you love me, prove it, and let's do this thing", she thundered.
Those were the exact words that found their way out of her mouth before she went offline that day.
And her words left him confused. He thought like any normal, right-thinking, and morally upright lady, she'd have loved to wait till their wedding night for them to have it.
"Why was she asking for this now?"
Kings wondered why his fiancee was acting weird all of a sudden. He was not a church boy or the 'churchy' type but sex before marriage was a line He had promised his mum never to cross. I mean, their wedding was just three months away. They had waited for 3 years already, three months was not too long to wait now, was it?
The more Kings refused to let her have him, the more she tried and she was even getting very creative with her seductive patterns; coming to visit him in his office in a skimpy, revealing dress, asking him to meet her in her apartment alone or frequently coming over to his apartment and acting all funny when they're alone but time and time again, Kings always had an excuse and a door of escape every time.
He discussed her newly found hunger and demand for sex with his two best friends, Bill and Michael and Bill waved it off and laughed over it telling him to give no serious thought to her advances if he didn't want to but Michael stood on the other side of the divide, advising that his friend takes advantage of the situation to have a good time, after all, he was getting married to her in three months. Kings felt more comfortable with Bill's idea and he also tried to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to the previous attempts she had made.
Until the blessed day when she visited and for the first time in a short while, she was not trying to make any advances towards him. She only asked that they watch a movie together which was a normal thing that they always did together. Elsie had gone to get refreshments from the kitchen and while preparing the drinks, she spiked them with a sleep-inducing drug. Turning to take the tray to the sitting, she was blocked by Kings and immediately she dropped the tray on the floor. She had been caught and she knew it!
That day was a very dramatic one, Kings had threatened to call off the wedding and his phone was blaring with calls and messages from his parents and her parents. The wedding was not less than a month away, "how could he call it all off now?"
They were both summoned to a meeting where the matter on the ground was to be discussed and settled. Kings explained his part and made it emphatically clear that If she said anything less than the truth as to why she went that far just to have sex with him, she should consider the wedding off! She was given an audience to defend her and after much pressure and pressing from her parents, she finally admitted she was pregnant, not just pregnant but for Michael, King's friend, and the plan was to get him to lay with her so they could set up Kings as the Father of the child.
Kings did not have much to say anymore, Elsie was already crying by this time, but Kings without uttering a word, walked out of that gathering with his parents never to return.
King's ability to control his emotions and feelings saved him from a major crisis.
