If you enjoy the EDM world of music, chances are you must have heard this track, and you probably don't know its name, because it's labeled as the most "unknown" famous song. "Unknown" because it literally came out of nowhere, but out of the mind of someone that didn't belong to this "DJ-world" when he built the track. He was far from wanting to promote himself to the whole world, but unavoidably, this happened very fast. At the time of CDs, Internet was not as democratized as now. It was harder making yourself noticed.

So here's the main "success story" of the only track he has been known for, but still was enough to get him famous. Before being known as Darude, Ville Virtanen lived in a small village of Finland, and used to go to nightclubs just to get vibes and sounds inside his head. When he got back home, he had ideas in order to create new patterns, new possibilities, new tracks. After a time, Sandstorm was created. He may have had to struggle to make a DJ take his CD seriously to hear it and see the piece of artwork, at the end of the day, his track has been played by the most famous DJs in the most famous clubs all around the world. And most people have known his track before knowing him.
Above is the full story ! It shows you don't necessarily have to focus on something to obtain it, Ville Virtanen didn't care about fame, he was calmly producing music for fun, as a hobby. He never had the intention of ending up where he is right now. 16 years later, his track has the same popularity, with new generations of ravers and clubbers discovering it :D
