So I haven't been feeling like writing or coming up here today but since I promised to start this series let me drop the first one. Read and enjoy.
Yes yes I know you're gonna scream this is a menial job. But then who says it doesn't pay? There's a car wash guy on my street and his shop is a shed made with about 4 standing wood and a zinc roof. He put a long bench under where his customers usually chill while he gets the deed done😁
No please the image above is not on my street it is from Google lol.
So I decided to monitor this guy and I noticed on weekdays he has minimum of 2 cars to wash daily and I hear he washes for 700naira. (Inclusive of your boot).
So he makes roughly 1400 daily (mon-friday) then on Saturdays did washes 15 cars on an average!!! Yay pay day a whopping 10,500 on Saturdays. Let's say he goes on break Sundays (which he doesn't) that means in a week he makes 17,500 every week. Multiply that by 4 and it is 70k monthly.
Now let's assume you have a 9-5 job or you're a student so you dont really have the time to sit down at a car wash or you're just plain sleek and your goons can't catch you dead washing cars for people. You can employ someone and pay them salary at the end of the month. If you're making 70k monthly I don't think 20k is such a bad idea.
Now to make it more juicy you could even add a loyalty card for your clients? Like wash 3 times and get the 4th wash free or refer someone and get your next wash free. All these would boost patronage and also keep your clients calling back. You can even add a twist and do "HOME WASH" especially on Sundays. Draw a programme whereby you can go to clients house and wash for them and charge higher than normal cuz I know some people who are always lazy to be at the carwash.
Now after all said and done you would need to draw out a business plan know how much capital you need (I'm thinking less than 100k) get a location (most preferably around your house to cut down transportation cost) get a business name and do catchy posters to get your brand out there.
Like every business it may be slow at first but with consistence and rendering of proper service you would create a clientele in no time.
I hope you find this post helpful.
