I read for a while each morning and most evenings. Yes, yes...I read your blog posts here on Steemit and other social media sites, but I also read books. š¤ lots of books.
I am usually juggling 3-10 books at a time...nibbling and dabbling on some until I eventually finish or else decide they are no longer worth my interest, and devouring others entirely because they educate, entertain, or inspire me. I like old school paper books, but really I prefer the ease and space savings of digital downloads. So, mainly iBooks or kindle for me. I also like to have a few audio books for times Iām walking across town or driving for a while and need inspiration or mindfulness.
Here is a screenshot of the iBooks Iām working through right now:
āThe Artistās Wayā is presently what I read first thing each morning. Actually, that book has me doing āmorning pagesā, a practice of writing 3 pages long hand on paper 1st thing each day to spur creativity. Then I read a few pages of he book. Good stuff that book is. šš½
āCrazy Rich Asiansā i bought to try as surface-brainless evening entertainment, but I couldnāt get into it. Itās too surface-brainless for me. Instead Iām Digging āThe Handmaidās Taleā for such purpose.
āTarot of the Spiritā after being inspired for years by the incredible Tarot art of šš½
Trying a sample of āThe Ultimate Medicineā per the recommendations of the wise
I donāt remember what inspired me to download āThe Mind Within the Brainā but psychology and even neuroscience fascinate me. Havenāt started it yet.
I adored David Diedaās 1st book, āThe Way of the Superior Man,ā but so far āFinding God Through Sexā had been good, but feels a little cheesy. I mean I know itās doable...I HAVE found god through sex, but this book is a little too āhow to-ishā for me to really feel his message on this one.
If something isnāt available in iBooks I go to kindle. and I share a kindle file and here are our most recent reads:
I believe āFreedomā was written by a Steemian? (Yes, ) I downloaded it per
recommendation but havenāt started it yet.
The Pinker books are Seanās purchases. Perhaps He will recommend them as books I might like, but I can usually just ask for a summary of books that he reads. Iām very lucky to have 24/7 access to Sean. (Iām not kidding. I really am a very privileged human in this way.)
āVital Pointsā was written by Steemian . I am eager to read it but will wait to finish a few others before beginning more.
āSlave Girl of Gorā Iām reading for a second time. The Gor books are notoriously long and wordy, but wow there are some powerfully arousing scenes in there. Arousing for me at least, and that all Iām looking for sometimes.
āThe Raven & The Aspen Kingā is the 2nd book of a trilogy written by my dear friend, Monika Carless. She was on Steemit at first as but sadly lost her login data. :/ I loved the first book in her series, but have struggled to get into this one. I keep meaning to try again. Itās unique...polyamory love triangle, elements of BDSM, paganism, and time travel. It has a lot going on! Sometimes itās hard to tell which character is sleeping with whom, or in which era! šš
āThe Ethical Slutā Iām also reading for a second time. Itās good! It makes sense. When I practice periods of open relationship sluttiness Iām very honest and ethical about it š, but there are only so many hours in the day and not enough lately for such shenanigans for me. Maybe rereading it will inspire me to play around again one day...
So thatās it. Iād love to hear what youāre presently reading or what type of books interest you.
