It's a hardship, it's a battle, a war even. But you have the power to stand up and do something, you have to, you have to believe you can.

I think that's what the message is all about: you are a victim and the poem doesn't say you're not, but you can try and stand up, even if a direct confrontation is impossible. And also, you're not alone.
