Preface:
The Arapaima gigas, known as Brazilian local name "pirarucu" derives from an indigenous word for "red fish", is a species of fish native to the basin of the Amazon River. Once believed to be the sole species in the genus, it is among the largest species freshwater fish, that is a air-breather and needs to come to the surface regularly to gulp air.
The fish is said to be the oldest and wisest animal on the planet.
THE TOAD KING
Once, not that long ago, there was a group of toads who lived happily in a muck infested swamp, free of any cares. One day, a few of them decide they want a proper leader and plead with Jove, (otherwise known as Jupiter) their god, to send them a king.
Jove laughed at the request and suddenly a very large log appeared in the middle of swamp. The toads were terrified at first, looking for places to hide.
Yet it was a small green frog hanging on a tree limb stared at the floating log in the swamp, and turned to look at the toads in their panic and shook him head. The frog dropped into the water, swam over and hopped up on the log and said “Silly toads, this is nothing but a log, centered in the middle of the swamp. Looks like your evil god has given you a alter for your king.” The frog jumped back into the water, and swam away.
The Toads looked round at themselves and realized there was nothing to fear. They had gotten what they asked for, so now there was to do is choose who the Toad King would be. Soon toads of all sizes began to swim out to the log and proclaim why they should be the one to be king. The log began to get very crowded, until the strongest of toads jumps on the log and mocks the rest of them, proclaiming himself the only one worthy of ruling.
The Strongest Toad began to cruelty scratch at the smaller toads until they fell back into the water. It was right then that a hunger stork swooped down to the log and gobbled the Strongest Toad and many others near him and flew away.
Belief and worship in a cruel God makes a cruel leader with a cruel fate.
