I have only been reading my Discworld books by Terry Pratchett lately, and I think I am almost done, with possibly only 12 or so books left to go out of the 41.
I have read some very specific ones before like Small Gods and Sorcery and finished the Watchmen arc as mentioned in a previous post.
Right now I am busy with the Witches, and reading it by Arc is nice because it keeps you in a certain story frame.
This site lists the Arcs quite nicely - https://bookriot.com/discworld-reading-order/
I have done Equal Rites which has a pleasant surprise in the form of Eskarina Smith who is the first and only female sorcerer. Currently I am busy with Wyrd Sisters and although I am not too big a fan of the whole witches without super powers thing the writing as always makes up for some quirks.
This is why I like Eskarina Smith and hopefully get a bit more of her in other books. I like magic, and not just whoopsie daisy magic, proper melt-your-face-off magic.
Pratchett seems to not like that because even in Sorcery which was pure unbridled magic he killed it off for something a bit more pedestrian, then again it did have a moral to the story.
I guess things need balance and as much as a person wants that one group or character to overpower all else it would get quite boring unless say it was in a movie theater and you paid good money for boring invincibility.
Mainly I was hesitant to read the Witches books purely because the Tiffany Aching ones were a bit irritating only saved by the little blue feegle who muck with everything.
Since Tiffany Aching is the poster child witch I figured the witch arc would be very similar and was not looking forward to it. Fortunately, it is a bit more complex so I will discount that fear to just being a Tiffany Youth Fantasy problem.
So anyway, that is what I am reading now, and will skip some I truly don't like such as the Going Postal guy's books purely because he is rather irritating and I don't like chancers.
