Wichita to Vegas to Denver to Seattle…my story of innocence, bullying, divorce, gangs, drugs, family, addiction, destruction and restoration.
The point of this story is to share, to heal, to remember, to relive, restore, and never turn back from where I have come from. This 100% true and accurate to the best of my recollection. I am going to publish a page or two of my story 3–5 days per week for this year.
I do hope, pray, and give thought that this story about myself will inspire or encourage at least one person to never give up. This is far from a fairytale. All things are possible.
The good, the bad, and the ugly.
At the age of 7, in the summer of 1986 I moved to Las Vegas, NV from Wichita, Kansas with my younger brother, Mom, and Dad. We moved from maybe your typical "normal" Middle America town to Sin City. I had no idea how this move was going to change me forever. My dad was a gambling addict already and Vietnam veteran. My mom a very caring mom and alcoholic.
Within the 1st couple of weeks of attending school there in 4th grade I was in my 1st fight, and had my head slammed into a tree stump and had to confront a younger bully that was bullying my little brother. We aren't in Kansas anymore.
