While browsing Reddit a lot before I couldn't help but notice their ads, many of them are really effective when placed in the relevant subreddits. So I decided to check out the details of the ads they offer and here are some info on it and why we should take the opportunity to advert Steemit there as well.

Some quotes taken from Best practices and Tips on Reddit Ads.
People use Reddit to share and discover information, so Reddit users want to learn about new things that are relevant to their interests, ads included.
Promoted posts come in two formats: link ad or text ad.
Link ads are great to drive traffic to your website. Text ads are great for driving conversation. What is the goal for your promotion? If you want discussion and feedback directly from Reddit users, go with a text ad. Text ads receive 3x as many comments on average than link ads. Text ads also allow you to share a lengthier promotion, whereas link ads are limited to a 300 character headline title. Link ads drive to one single click-through URL. Text ads click through to the text post with a comments thread on Reddit, and you may have as many links as you’d like within your text ad copy.
So here I am wondering if we should go with the link ad which has a title and links directly to Steemit. Maybe even link it to a Steemit Getting Started guide or just the Steemit front page.
What are your thoughts regarding this?
Here is a screenshot of examples on how you can personalize your Reddit Ad:
This is what I like about the Reddit Ads the most. You can target them to specific subreddit communities. Steemit could for instance be used on all cryptocurrency subreddits but also on blogging, social media and other relevant ones.
Address your audience’s burning pains. Even better: Explain how you solve them.
Emotion makes the world go ‘round. Relate your ad copy to your target market's burning pains in order to make a strong connection.
For this one I think it goes without saying what Steemit is here to do and how it will help its audience, I'm sure the connection will come naturally once they start using Steemit and see how it works.
Make it interactive — Invite conversation!
Reddit users love sharing their own stories and opinions. The AskReddit community gets X million pageviews a month!
This is also great as they let you comment and have a discussion in the thread, even if it had a link to Steemit you can still write in the comments. This is where I would need some of the already successful Steemians to show up and write something about their Steemit Experience for others to read.
Offer a deal
It's no surprise that offering a deal with entice people to take more interest. But unique to Reddit is a sense of belonging to the community. Users often identify themselves as "Redditors". Offering a Reddit-only deal sends a signal that you acknowledge the community these users have created.
This quote was something I thought about the most and was trying to come up with ways to offer Reddit users a starting bonus when signing up.
For instance, many "famous" users who joined Steemit got many welcomes and great rewards on their posts. But what about the normal users who already have been active and curating on other platforms such as reddit?
To properly welcome them it would be amazing if or
would come up with a great way to reward the new Reddit users who already have a great amount of link and comment karma, and give them a starting bonus correlated to their karma amount so they can continue voting on Steemit with a little higher influence than the 10 starting SP.
Maybe have it as a promotion, let's say would fund 100k Steem for 1 month new reddit users, when the ads run out, the Steem would be divided depending on all Reddit users that joined during that month and related to their karma get a bigger Steem powered up to their account.
Let me know what you think of that suggestion as it was something I came up myself. Hopefully active and generous users find it to be a decent idea too and would like to donate towards it.
This last idea is something that can be further discussed and would be great if we would come up with a good and effective solution as a community.
Pricing
I'll just paste this link that directs you to Pricing and Billing section of the Reddit Ads.
To keep it short:
its an auction-based system. There is a minimum bid, but no capped bid amount. The bid you place is the highest CPM (cost per thousand impressions) you’re willing to pay for your ad to be seen by the target audience.
So what do you say Steemians? Is it time to get Steemit on Reddit Ads?
All SD and Steem that this post makes will go towards starting off the Reddit Ads, depending on the amount it gathers I will make an update later explaining on which subreddits I managed to place the Steemit Ad to.
Feel free to comment what your thoughts are of this idea and about the "Redditor sign-up bonus" suggestion I had.
