It has been one hell of a year on Steemit. While many have given up and left I’m still trying rock it in my corner of the blockchain over here. I’ve taken a short little break to enjoy time with some people around me. Along with that time I’ve taken some actions needed to help ensure 2019 will be an interesting year as well.
I really focused a lot this year on just gaming content in general. I feel like this year I nailed down where and what I wanted my blog space to be. Sure I had other content as well but I had amazing fun around the gaming parts.
Path of Exile
Like last year I created a fair amount of fun and some content around the game Path of Exiles. I’ve entered a few hardcore races this year and heck I even managed to be the highest level shadow in one of them. Something I look forward to entering more in the future.
The race I won highest for my class was a 24-Hour Race. I wrote that right after it had finished and I was dead tired doing so. As such the victory and failures to those attempts where fresh in my mind at the time.
There were three other races I had entered as well in the year 2018. In Delve I got just hammered left and right in a post, I dubbed End Of The Line. In another league called Incursion, I went all out in creating a bunch of different classes from range to shadow in a Three-Day Hardcore Race. Then there was the infamous one of getting killed by a Spike Trap in the race for Bestiary league.
I also just created a bunch of other content for the game where I spend most of my time in softcore just not in a rush to get anywhere. I wrote a few posts on the maps I liked to run the atlas. I’ve yet to do every single map in the game. Maybe 2019 will be that year!
Not All Gaming
Taking a short break from gaming for a moment. I did not want to make my entire blog about gaming so during 2018 I grew a garden during the summer months. I tried out a few different things from growing from seeds to already having something in a potter I just had to maintain. Almost all the seeds died off but most of the plants lived. I wrote an almost weekly update on my struggles and victory’s during it. From the Start of growing seeds indoors to start and planting some stuff in potters. Till the End where the season was mostly over and I did not want to write another update post.
Game Reviews
I’ll admit I did not create as many game reviews and not on all the games I wanted to either. Some games like Bannerlords just have not come out yet and others like Fallout 76 where so bad I never picked up the game.
There are two things I like to think I’m most known for comments and really in-depth gaming reviews. So in part, I only create gaming reviews of that depth once in a while and you really need to feel some motivation to do them in the style l I do. I’m talking 40-60 hours at least of in-game time played and another 10 hours on top of that of getting screenshots and writing up the post. Those are really rare gems. Not so sure how often I’ll be putting out any of those in 2019. They are just very time-consuming.
The one I found most fun to was State of Decay 2. I not only revisited the good and old original State of Decay. I also just hit it out of the park in the review for the second one State of Decay 2 You just don’t see that kind of effort these days being put into creating content much anymore on the blockchain. For good reason, only a crazy person would make that a single post!
I also did a full-blown review on Seas Of Thieves. I was hoping before even the game was out to be making a ton of content for the game. Turns out I’m still waiting on an amazing pirate themed go pillage and plunder game of some sort. I did not make much content other than some really easy stuff like a Tips And Tricks Guide. Maybe in 2019 I’ll be a pass back around to things and see how all the updates they should have had in 2018 went and see what they are headed for 2019!
I wrote a few other reviews as well. In fact, I had plans and even played another five games that I just never got around to making any content for. I would put it off to go enjoy a game with a friend or go play something new and then they just got left behind. Who knows maybe I’ll find some time in 2019 to finish some stuff off or just act the fact that a more normal length of a review and not something insanity long is just better for my time and productivity!
I also tried my hand at writing some fiction and highlighting games with play through such as I did for Mound & Blade. That method really allowed me to create daily content and to focus in on certain aspects of a game such as Hiring Companions to exploring how I intended to fund my armies on our conquest for total control by creating an Economic Backbone first.
There were a lot of other gaming content and games that happened on my blog in the year 2018. These were just ones I easily recall when I reflect back a bit.
Archdruid Gaming
This is also where I went really heavy into being in a community again. Quite a number of my posts over the past few months have been relating to my endeavors of that gaming community. Everything from Contest Posts to almost weekly Author Showcases. I wrote 26 of them in 2018. How crazy is that!
There was a bunch of other content as well such as Curating Video And Written Gaming Content that is still referenced even today.
While it has consumed more of my time then I like. I’ve had some very fun and interesting moments on my journey with them. I even become a curator because of my efforts. Not in a million years would I have thought that would have happened. Just shows the power of being a go-getter and wanting support others can do.
Closing
While there so much more I want to say let’s face it I had an entire years’ worth of blogs and comments on this blockchain! Hard to cover in just a single post and well this one already getting long. I see a lot of Steem Monsters in my future here which is why I’ve not included it in 2018. The start was just the beginning. Until the next one have an amazing 2019!
