1 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz simple syrup
10-12 fresh mint leaves
Ice cubes
Salt (for rimming the glass, optional)
Lime wedges (for garnish)
Mint sprigs (for garnish)
**Instructions
Prepare the Glass:
If you like a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of your margarita glass.
Dip the rim into a plate of coarse salt to coat it evenly. Set the glass aside.
Muddle the Mint:
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and simple syrup.
Gently muddle the mint leaves using a muddler or the back of a spoon. This releases the essential oils and flavors of the mint without making them bitter.
Mix the Drink:
Add the tequila, triple sec, and fresh lime juice to the shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.
Strain and Serve:
Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice cubes.
Strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass using a fine mesh strainer to catch any mint fragments.
Garnish:
Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint for an attractive presentation.
Enjoy:
Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Mint Margarita!
Tips
For an extra minty kick, you can add a splash of club soda to the finished drink.
Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of simple syrup according to your taste preference.
For a frozen version, blend all the ingredients with ice instead of shaking them.
This Mint Margarita is sure to become a favorite for its delightful balance of flavors and refreshing qualities.
