Relationship is a beautiful thing, especially when you find that person whom you feel makes you see the love you have always anticipated. We all have expectations, we all want to be heard, we all want to be free but we need to give up our single ways; the way you do things when you had no one. A lot of people bring in their extra baggage from the past into their relationship and this hinders the growth of it.
He who wants to go fast must travel light.
If you want to go far in your relationship, you need to leave the past where it belongs; the past. Don’t import from your past the things you don’t want into your future. I agree, we all have varying experiences and it has effect on us in one way or the other, but this is why we should leave room for communication. Discuss anything with your partner; this helps and keeps him or her in the know, and your partner would seek for ways to make things better. If they leave as a result of what you told them, don’t struggle; be thankful because that person wasn’t meant for you in the first place.
It would be foolish to keep doing the same thing over and over again and be expecting new things to spring up. You have to do things differently than you are used to; that is the sacrifice and commitment a relationship requires.
Give up your single ways. Let go of those beliefs that held you bound. Life is meant to be lived and not to be endured. What you give into your relationship is what you will see. If you sow commitment, your partner would raise the bar too. I would always say you should look for someone who compliments you rather than completes you because you are not broken, so you don’t need fixing.
