In today's super-busy world, many people say that they have no time
to relax and give themselves a little break. Oftentimes, their schedules
are loaded with so much activities that all they do is work, work and work.
While most people are busy working for people, there is no time left for themselves.
People say, "there is no time to relax."
But relaxation is a must for people living in today's world.
It is a need and not an option especially for those who are
working a sedentary life. Relaxation can take in any form or kind.
It can be a long vacation where you travel somewhere far from home,
a weekend spent with your family or loved ones, or just a simple
break off from your work. Whether it's simple or exotic, it really doesn't matter.
Here are some good reasons why you need to have time for
relaxation and lend yourself a good day off your work.
Relaxation keeps your heart healthy.
According to a research on 17, 000 women from
the Women's Health Study (WHS), women whose
work was stressful, had a 40% increase risk
of heart attack. A similar study was conducted on
men, and the result showed similar result.
Relaxation rejuvenates your body.
When you spend time to relax, you are giving your
nerves and muscles time heal and to rejuvenate.
You allow your inner self to rest, recharge and relive.
You give them time to be back to its normal condition
and unwind so they could better function again when
you get back to your work.
Relaxation improves your memory.
An important brain function that we use every day is recalling.
When we read or hear new information, it becomes a short-term memory.
Many scientists are aware that relaxed minds are more receptive
and perform betterin getting new information than those that are not.
This study reveals to us the concept that a mechanism
by which relaxation neurons work together helps to boost memory.
According to Adam Mamelak, a neurosurgeon at
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles
“When memory-related neurons are well coordinated
to theta waves during the learning process, memories are stronger.”
So common, take a break from your busy schedule.
Give yourself a day or two, off your weekly calendar
and spend that time for yourself in relaxation.
