The key to effective parenting
A person's ability to love without measure can have a very powerful effect. Seeing a person from an eternal perspective, knowing that his value is infinite, helps us see beyond his weaknesses. However, if we criticize his behavior, he will see this criticism as a personal attack. In the same way, when a family member makes a mistake and we judge him or her, that person may feel justified in having acted the way he or she did.
Our responsibility is to reject sin without rejecting the sinner. We must approach him and treat him with dignity and respect even if it seems like the moment when he least deserves it. Perhaps the greatest dilemma we have as parents is when our children choose what is against church standards. Perhaps we feel that we should force our children to do what we know is right.
