Very much of our lives is about waiting regardless of how swift things are in our world, God, however, is never in a hurry—or at least that's the impression most of us get. “God has His own hour and delay,” says an old and reliable adage. Hence, we wait.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. Psalm 37:7
Waiting can be tough. We fidget with our thumbs, drag our feet, restrain our yawns, heave lengthy sighs, and agonize inwardly in frustration. We end up questioning ourselves "why must I continue live with this weird individual?", "why should I continue perform these tedious tasks?", "why should I continue to exhibit this embarrassing behavior?", "what else am I going to do about this health issue that will not go away?","Why hasn't God come through?", "Has He abandoned me?".
God’s respond to your questions: “Wait awhile and see what I will do.”
Waiting is one of greatest teachers in life for in it we become versed in the virtue of waiting while God works for us and in us.While we wait, we develop the habit of endurance as well as the capacity to put our trust in God’s love, His word, and His goodness, even during times and seasons when things aren’t going our way (Psalm 70:5).
Waiting is, therefore, not a depressive resignation. Hence,we can now “rejoice and be glad in [Him]” as we wait in hope bearing in mind that God will eventually save us in due time.
