Well, i really want to ask a question and hopefully many people will come across this and give their answers. In recent times there has been this issue that Christians are NOT supposed to pay tithe as New Testament Believers while people believe that it is mandatory.
Jesus surprisingly didnt preach about tithe, though he talked about it once in Matthew 23:23 when he condemned the attitude of the Scribes and Pharisees; Paul who wrote most of the scriptures in the new testament really didnt talk us into paying or not paying tithe though in Hebrew 7 he mentioned that Levi paid a tithe through Abraham (mentioned in Genesis 14:20).
ALSO, NO BIBLE PASSAGE showed us that Abraham paid a tithe from his wealth or income or riches; in Genesis 14, he gave from the spoils.
Do you think we are missing something as Christians?
Personally to me, tithing 10% can limit giving as a person can feel he has paid his dues and therefore put him in a legal-relationship with God instead of a love-relationship.
The whole essence of giving and living is love.
What is you take?
