Following Christ, I mean truly following Him, is the single hardest decision a person will ever make. (Luke 14:26) It will take a renewed commitment to follow Him each day if we are to please Him who redeemed us. Yeshua/Jesus set the example of prayer for this very reason as an example for us. (Matthew 6:9-13)
The danger facing us today, with the coming persecution, is that many in the church will fall away. (Mark 13:19).
By way of example, I wonder how many of the atheist and agnostics of today have merely exchanged one form of fundamentalism for another? In other words, they were followers of a church or religion rather than Yeshua/Jesus, but didn't truly know Jesus, or were deeply wounded by someone and couldn't reconcile Him with the world around them. The enemy exploited this weakness to remove them from the church. (steal, kill, and destroy)
To follow Him, one must be able to recapture the Biblical worldview.
How does a person learn to reconcile the world around them with Christ? The answer is to take the worldview Christ over the worldview of man. The outlook or worldview of the non-theist cannot account for all the depth and intricacies of life. Looking at the seven fundamental areas I outlined in the Point of Faith: (Origin, Identity, Meaning, Ethical Value, Love, and Consciousness), one can begin to see that the worldview of Christ can most accurately reconcile life as we experience it and as it was intended. In other words, the entirety of our existence points to something larger than us. Life points to Christ/Yeshua and in Him is life.
