To this Knight, it feels as though Jesus was using the sermon to lay a new foundation for ethical and moral behaviour. Firstly describing those behaviours that would be ultimately rewarded in heaven. Then providing examples of how one might maintain an ethical existence, in accordance with the 10 Commandments, in light of the temptations and societal structure of the world, at that time.
So how does this relate to today Brother Tikhub...
- Family should come first - always
- Avoid commercial temptation - turn off the TV and read a book.
- Avoid lustful temptation - don't look upon all you see with desire.
- Be happy within yourself and be patient and understanding of others. (Ie. It doesn't matter if someone else likes to drive slow, even if they are in the fast lane.)
- Get off Facebook - nobody cares about you there - go spend time with your family (see point 1).
This Knight would love to see more replies to this question.
