This year, many people have been believing and fighting in faith for many things. During these hard times many people have grown tired and weary, to the point of almost giving up.
Everything God created requires a certain amount of rest.
The Father rested after He created everything.
“but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard.” -Leviticus 25:4
What does resting in God mean?
Resting in God means you are putting your full trust in Him, knowing that whatever situation you face God will handle it.
Rest is when you let go of the things that burden you. Letting go is the greatest evidence of faith because you know without a doubt that God is doing something.
“for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.” – Hebrews 4:10 -11 (NIV)
You have to fight for your peace first:
Before you reach the level of rest, the enemy will try to take you away from any peace. He will attack your mind and remind you of your situation. When you are worried, anxious or fearful that is proof that you aren’t fully trusting God. You aren’t allowing Him to work in your life. That lack of trust will keep you away from peace.
When you feel anxious, exhausted, and beat that is when you must speak the Word into your life and worship God giving Him all your worries.
“The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.” – Psalm 23: 1-3
You have to fight for that total rest.
The most powerful miracles happen when you let go and let God take complete control.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;” – Philippians 4:6
The world is being stirred up with chaos. There is no peace. But this is the time the church must have the peace of God within them.
What separates the church from the world?
It is having peace in the middle of the storm.
A hurricane, an earthquake, anything can happen but what separates you from anyone else is that you have the peace of God. You are in rest because you know God will take care of you.
You are called to be an extension of His peace. When problems arise, show people the peace of God.
Those who are not in the rest of God:
It shows they don’t fully trust God.
They will be easily burned out, spiritually, emotionally, physically.
Worrying about a situation won’t make it any better. But believing and knowing God is in full control can turn any situation around.
How to enter into rest?
Worship – when you worship God you enter into His presence and that is a place of rest. When you have peace in your heart that is how you know you are in His total and complete rest.
Allow God to take control of whatever situation you are facing. Whether you need a miracle or you’re tired of constantly fighting, enter into God’s presence. Worship Him and give all your burdens to Him. Declare His Word over your life and believe that this new season will be a season of rest and victory.
