The idea of Fight Club, as the author says, came to him later what happened to him fighting on the train. More specifically, the indifference of friends that didn't even show interest in his wounds (seemingly only some, but enough to create such a masterpiece).
The story is based on the most typical office plankton that cares little about human happiness and love, replacing it with love for clothes from IKEA. He hates his job and doesn't think to change anything, except that the covers for your couch with green upholstery. However, one day he meets a man that will show him the opposite side of life. It is not called happy, but she definitely likes him more.
Reading the book, you notice that the appearance of "heroes" is hardly mentioned. The emphasis is on the bright inner world and the very ideology by which the heroes live. They spit on public opinion and rules. They are not afraid of death, on the contrary, the risk of a comparable coming. And have fun so desperately and madly that a simple person would consider to avoid them.
The meaning of the book can be interpreted in different ways, but, despite the wild desire after reading to go and fill the face of the counter, it lies in another. In than something more human and bright. This is the very thing that Palahniuk manages to convey to us. Feed your demons, but don't let them off the leash.
