About a year or two ago I picked out this wonderous show while searching the Netflix categories for more to add to my list... No not MY blacklist, my list of movies and shows to watch. I was intrigued to see what this show would provide and the fact that James Spader was in it helped peak my interest.
The beginning shows Raymond 'Red' Reddington(James Spader) walking into the FBI building as one of their most wanted fugitives, surrendering himself to the FBI in order to make a deal. On the same day was Agent Elizabeth Keen starting her job as a profiler for the FBI. The deal is for Reddington to provide criminals on his own blacklist that they don't know about in order for immunity and only to speak to Agent Keen.
Throughout the seasons are various cases that slowly start to unravel the mystery of why Reddington turned himself in, what his connection to Keen is, and the story keeps unfolding.
It is an action packed crime show driven by connecting cases and the relationship between our two main characters, the life of a notoriously clever fugitive, and the different criminals based around the world.
For me I find The Blacklist to be one of my favourite shows with James Spader playing his role perfectly, adding a nice feeling of a well done TV show, quality entertainment, keeping you wondering what will happen next, and blending the action and story in together.
I give it a 4.5/5 stars and well worth checking out.
