Our first stop during our LTB trip (after we left the guesthouse) was the tire center. We needed to change the front rims and tires. To our surprise (and the shop owner), the rims we picked up the previous day from another shop were smaller. Our bad. We didn't check because we assumed the seller knew the correct size since we acquired the truck from them, LOL!
Anyway, we called them, and thank goodness, they sent someone to bring us the right ones. While waiting, we watched the shop's boys work on an SUV's tyres. They were quite efficient in what they do.
The rims arrived soon after (glad there wasn't any traffic). Checking if they fit, the boys began mounting the new tires into them. Zzzt! Zzzzt! Zzzzt! Some machines buzzed for a short while, heard some clinking, a gentle thud (they removed the jack), final tightening of the lug nuts, putting back the nut caps, clearance checks (the hubby was asked to steer the wheel from lock to lock while the boss examined if the tires were not rubbing against anything), and that was it. We were told everything was okay.
Awesome! I love how quickly the job was done. It was mid-morning then, and we had yet to have breakfast. So after settling the bill and a brief chat with the boss, we headed to McDonald's. It is the first place we thought of for a few reasons—it has accessible parking, and while they don't allow pets inside, we can take one of the tables outside. It is close to where my best friend works, and she can take a short walk to have coffee with us.
It turned out to be a good decision, for we enjoyed some sunshine too! My bestie came as I expected, and we had a lovely time catching up over fries and well, not coffee but McFlurry😅 Anyway, I might share more of that on another day. (This had been on my draft since Tuesday)
Happy weekend! It's been a wonderful Saturday here in DD.
