Ripple is cream of the crop at the moment, it is arguably the second highest crypto at the moment based on its recent spike (rapid increase in growth).
Presently valued above $2.8 as at the time of writing this article,
but taking a look at it's stand as at October 03, 2017, it was valued about $0.1.
The rapid increase in its value is as a result of news that a Tokyo based financial-services company SBI holdings and its subsidiary SBI Ripple have established a consortium with some Japanese credit card companies to use block chain technology and also there has been a formation of partnerships between SBI Ripple Asia and South Korean Banks.
By its affiliation with credible banks Ripple has differentiated itself from other cryptos ( companies such as Bank of America, Unicredit & Santander use the Ripple platform ).
Ripple uses the blockchain technology, but it is not mined by users as in bitcoin's case. This simply means that it's company ( Ripple labs ) has control over it. Initially 100 billion Ripple coins were made and presently about 38 billion of those coins are in circulation.
