After not much sleep, I checked out of my one-night room and had a hearty lunch buffet. I’m resolved to have two main meals of the day while here rather than three. My spare tire needs to go.

This is a huge city, so far have only seen a little bit of it. There appear to be no restrictions on jaywalking and since streetlights seem to be few and far between, taking your chances seems to be the way to do it. When in Rome...
I really stick out like a sore thumb. Not only am I a farang, I’m a tall one. I’m at least a head taller than anyone on the streets, two heads taller than many. I have zero chance of blending in.
Until his Traumatic Brain Injury in August, my son was a Muay Thai fighter. Now recovering, his fighting days are over but he still coaches. Bought a pair of shorts for him from a street vendor, hope they fit:
The midday sun and humidity was too much for me. Headed back to the hotel for an afternoon nap (2 in the morning as far as my biological clock is concerned). Will do some more exploring later in the day. Finally figured out how to turn selective lights off, there’s a control panel by the room’s phone. I am such a rube. My room for one night was normal sized; the room for the rest of my stay is large, really a suite:
