A Trip to Cooktown
I was fed up of my routine. I mean that I went to Australia to travel and relax mainly, but I’ve already worked 2/3 of my time there. So one Saturday after we finished the concrete pour, I was playing with the thought to make a short trip somewhere, at least overnight. I talked to my colleagues and one of them suggested Cooktown to me. That small town, located at the Cape York Peninsula, four hours north from Cairns is well known for it’s good hunting and fishing. And that’s what I was looking for, because fishing always makes me calm down. As I finished my shift I jumped immediately in my car and headed towards north. It was a very nice drive, not many people are going or living up there. I arrived half an hour before the sunset, so perfect time to make a few casts. I just caught a few little bream during the afternoon and night, but in the morning nothing except for two squids with my cast net. That night made me feel much better, so I packed up my stuff and got ready for the way back. On the road i got hungry and made a stop at the Lakeland roadhouse, I ordered steak and two eggs, which cheered up my mood. I felt happy after my little trip to Cooktown and ready for the coming week at work again!
