Vin Diesel has a new nickname: Vin Rebel. He escaped the garage after being tortured for 13 weeks. He worked on his body while in prison and got a lot more strength now. But he got some mental damage too. He doesn't listen that well, he has its own will. He doesn't like authority. They tried to beat him up, because they didn't want him to be that handsome. So sometimes he snaps and he shuts himself off. Doors will stay closed for a while. He has a warm personality inside, but from time to time he shows a dark side. The connections in his head can do unexpected things. Can he be rewired? They don't want to help him and he's not even allowed on the road anymore. He needed a bit more pressure. Vin Rebel talked with Mad Max and shared their fury. Be aware, hide your Dinky Toys and move aside...
Vin Rebel was moody yesterday. Short Circuit, failing electricity and a lot of rattling under the car. When I turned off the music and opened the windows, I heard a rattling sound. First I found a metal cup from the coffee grinder at the bottom of the car with a similar sound. But this was just a joke from Vin Rebel to fool me. Next step, go down and get dirty. Vin Rebel loves it. Just shaking it down under and see if the moaning sound starts. Nothing happens. Finally I discovered and open hole and BAM! That gave a satisfying feeling...
Of course I am talking about a car and finding the issue 😜 The issue was a special bolt used by Mercedes for keeping the caliper (claw of the brake) on its place. That bolt didn't like his old home and it was gone. The caliper hit the metal splash plate that got thorn and caused a rattling noise. This is no safe driving, especially not when you have to cross the highest mountain in Portugal the same day. My Dutch friends from the night before send me to a good garage. The bolt was not on stock. The garage called all suppliers and they didn't have it. They need to order at Mercedes and I have to wait for 3 working days. No time for that, my patience is tired at the moment. So we looked at one of the cars in the garage...it was a Mercedes Vito. Lucky! Because is has exactly the same bolt in the caliper. I was ready to be safe on the road again. Checked the other brake as well and all bolts were loose. Serious mistake at the last garage. 30 euro's for 1 bolt, but I am happy. This was maybe the first time I wanted to kiss a guy (on the cheek).
I will keep on smiling end see the lucky moments in all that happens. Crossing villages called "Fundada" and "Fundao" made me realize that it was all quite a funny day. I feel like a fugitive that makes pitstops on the best places. I randomly ended up with people from an earlier visit in Portugal and I was surprised when I was at the beautiful location of Boom Festival. I also met new people that invited me on their properly to camp overnight, feed my hunger and set the night on fire. I was also ready for the beach. You don't expect it after a roadtrip around the highest mountain, but it ended with a refreshing dip at the beach in a mountain village.
It is funny. For 3 months I felt stuck and disconnected. Being on the road again seems to restart one of my favorite parts of nomad life; meeting loads of nice people, see amazing places and living the adVINture life...
When I see the messages from my home country that I am currently kicked off the road and, blocked by my provider, out of my expensive insurance and almost signed out as a resident, I just play a tune from MUSE: "They will not force us, They will stop degrading us, They will not control us, We will be victorious SO COME ON!" and a hit the gas pedal and go for the moon. And crypto should follow me to the moon soon.
