As a strategy to avoid running local buses at night, mini trucks are called by different market names. Small traders get on the truck to go to the market at low cost. The robbers are already sitting in the front and back of the truck. After going some distance, they grabbed the traders with knives and threatened to kill them and snatched everything important including money and mobile phones.
Then he pushed them and threw them on the road. In this way a gang of robbers organized for a long time was snatching everything from the small traders and throwing it away from the moving vehicles. The latest victims of the bandits are Apan Mia and Nazrul Islam. He snatched everything from them and pushed them out of the moving car. Apan Mia died in it. Apan Mia's wife filed a murder and robbery case with the Airport Police Station. The Gulshan Division of the Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) arrested eight people involved in the incident on Tuesday.
Those arrested are Sajal, Musa, Bachchu, Sajib, Munna and Siddique. Four of them have been arrested from Battala junction in Chanpara under Rupganj police station in Narayanganj district. Pickups and domestic weapons used in the robbery, looted money and mobile phones were recovered from them. There were four others except Munna and Siddique on the night of the incident. Although Munna was a member of the gang, he was not present on the night of the incident. There are two fugitives named Rafiq alias Pitul and Chattar. Rafiq was directly involved in the killings and robberies that night. And the umbrella helps them to rob. Besides, the fugitive bought other things including the snatched mobile phone.
According to the investigation and DBS, the arrested robbers go out after 12 midnight or in the middle of the night with a hired pick-up for the purpose of robbery. There are 3 people in the front seat of the pick-up and 2/3 people in the back as passengers. It targets small traders going to wholesale markets in Kawranbazar, Jatrabari, Bhulta and other areas of Dhaka to buy fish, fruits and vegetables. Most of them are residents of Uttar Khan, Dakshin Khan, Bhulta, Rupganj, Kawla and Gazipur areas. These traders buy vegetables from the market at wholesale prices and sell them in the area. So late at night they came out of the house and stood on the road waiting for the car. They have Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 with each of them when they go to the market. Members of the bandits pick up these traders as passengers to pick them up at the wholesale yard. From Abdullahpur to Kawranbazar, sometimes from Rampura to Jatrabari, sometimes from Jatrabari to Bhulata Gauchia targeted all these roads and carried out robberies. Because there are arrangements in the surrounding roads all night around the various wholesale markets. In the last two years, they have robbed at least two hundred traders in different areas. Many victims of robbery have become destitute.
