In 2015 my husband built himself a new rod shop. It was twice the size of his old one. He’d planned to move this shop into an even bigger space under the new living room.
But now I must find another, hopefully just starting out, new rod builder who will use this equipment. I hope to sell the entire shop as a lot. It would include everything here but the stereo, rod, and green cabinets. This is the 12’ building lathe bench.
This was the 3 rod drying bench. Everything is included except the clock, posters, and green cabinets. Even the microwave for heating epoxy.
Some of the rods he built.
There are storage hooks for overhead, and the lights he installed.
He used his shorter old lathe for a stripping bench. The pegboard wall is included but not the painting.
I hope I can find someone to use this and who will build beautiful, carefully crafted rods like he used to.
I also have 3 lots of deep sea reels.
He didn’t do much fresh water building, but we found 6 various fresh water blanks. Those would be for sale also. There are 2 of his rods I’m keeping in this photo.
This was some of his work. Sorry about the blurriness, these were taken by Tom on his phone. A jigging rod he made.
A bait rod, this is all thread work.
The rod he put his best friend’s ashes in so he could take him fishing.
There’s also an Alps printer for making custom decals and all the inks and paper for it.
This is a sad, hard job. He loved building rods and fishing, and I hope I can get his stuff out to people who will use it and enjoy it like he did.
