attended this run today. She tells me its something related to Mo Farrah hence the name. I thought I would do a short write up as I know she won’t!
We were a little late (as usual) and needed the loo. 2 minutes before the kickoff and she's still queuing up.
Don’t think she’s a compulsive Cheshire cat grinner, as soon as the camera vanishes the grin goes just as quickly.
She forgot to load up ActiFit so that’s another reason for me to post this instead of her.
Some, actually many were running in fancy dress. It seems to be a common thing in England recently.
It kicked off at 9am, far too bloody early for me on a Sunday morning. We had to rise at 7am which is why the post I shorter than normal for me. I'm going to crash as soon as it's written on the blockchain.
Despite being so early, a lot attended, in fact around 800. This is a major city after all. The blue name tags are the 5k people and the orange the 10k.
As she was a little late to start got hampered by the slow ones in front of her. It didn’t take her long to get ahead though.
I took a few action shots with the iPhone burst mode. It’s not a DLR by any means but I can choose the best from 15 or so shots.
She looked to be doing well but I was shocked to find out that the finish line judge blared out on the megaphone, ‘Here’s the first female 10k finisher’.
There were a lot of runners, and she finished 21st in total, that’s including the men!
Some going I would say, so after the interview with the bloke with the loudspeaker which was all of a single question, I got a few more shots.
As well the regular medal, she now has a ‘champions' medal too. It's going up on eBay later, anyone interested?
Yes, I'm a bit proud of her. Alright I'm really proud of her!
Official Time for 10k: 46 minutes, 46 seconds.
