This is my answer to questions about Russia, from this topic.
“Do you like Putin and why? I heard from anotherRussian, that the wages were good but the pension was bad.”
The majority of the population of Russia loves their leaders.
They absolutely do not care whom to support. We loved our kings (until 1917, Russia was ruled by kings and queens), we loved Stalin, we loved Brezhnev, we loved Gorbachev and Yeltsin.
The funeral of Stalin.
Many centuries the majority of the population of Russia survives or lives in poverty (by European standards). They do not care who their leader is or what his name is, Putin or Medvedev. Propaganda helps us to love our leaders. In the beginning of the 19th century, religion did it. Then the media - newspapers, radio, television.
That it was easier to love, we are told about the enemies surrounding the country. (At the last speech Putin talked for 3 minutes about poverty in the country and 40 minutes about a new rocket.)
Salaries in Russia are very different and vary depending on the region.
Ask for specific professions and skill level. It should be borne in mind that Russia almost does not produce household technological precursors of everyday life - TV sets, computers, washing machines, smartphones. Russian goods are much inferior in quality, comfort and design (if this is not an alteration from China). Imported goods are more expensive than in other countries.
If you want to find out how people live in Russia on most of the territory, see the films "Левиафан"(Leviathan) This American history is transferred to the Russian reality.
"Груз 200" (Cargo 200) (very cruel film)
This is not an "art house", not a thriller, it's about living away from Moscow. Look for these movies with your translations.
