Safety above all else should be everybody's primary concern. However, in many cases where storm warning signals were raised in a certain locations suspending classes in kindergarten, elementary, junior and senior high schools - college level classes still go on. There may be something wrong with what these higher authorities are expecting from the college students. Thinking about like "are strong winds, heavy rains and floods not dangerous to a college student's life?" is insane. If this is the point then, it is better not to suspend senior high school classes either. When it comes to ages gap (because this is usually used as a defense in this case), it is very little and immaterial in deciding whether to suspend classes or not. Why did they come up with these kind of decisions? Hopefully, this will change anytime soon!
