We sail out of Georgetown in the Bahamas to depart for the Dominican Republic.
But what we hoped to do in one attempt the week before took us a total of three attempts due to the constant 'Easting' that is dreaded by cruisers - battling East through the Caribbean Sea against the trade winds. We had sailing breakdowns, endured rough weather and seas and had the worst possible winds for our trip sailing to the Dominican Republic.
But like always, we made do and successfully completed our goal - after a quick stop in Great Inagua Island, Bahamas - and arrived in the Dominican Republic.
After check in procedures in Luperon, Dominican Republic were complete - a notorious hassle in the sailing world - we were ready to take stock of all the damages from this crazy sail.
Not really the best welcome for our volunteer Patreon crew member, Zak, but certain to be a memorable trip...
