⛵ ⛵ ⛵ ⛵...(Tour of "High Island")...Continued...
[Last time...]
“Six thousand, six hundred ounces!”
An utter silence fell on the chartroom! Galligan shot a hard glance at the Captain but he wasn’t looking back. The warriors had a look of shock on their faces! This amount of wealth was beyond their ability to grasp! Finally Big Bear conveyed his last question to the boy and he turned and spoke…
“What kind…grand work?!”

[On the Silverton…main deck…]
With the meeting concluded, the warriors slowly began to descend the ratlines to their canoes. Little Grey Wolf however lingered near the rail next to the captain. Gazing up over a hundred feet in the air he curiously eyed the main mast and the maze of rigging lines.
“You have tree!” He exclaimed curiously as he pointed up.
“That’s the main mast Lad.” The Captain explained.
“Where your paddles?”
“Haw! Haw! We don’t paddle th' Silverton laddie. See's th' cross-bars oan th' mest? That’s whaur stoatin sheets o' clootie ur boond an' tied. When lit doon, th' win' fills 'em an' it pushes uir ship forward!”
“The wind?! Pushed the great ship?!” The boy exclaimed in wonder.
“Aye it does!”
Suddenly the boy’s eyes glanced across the main deck and in a burst of emotion, he cried out, “Omar, my friend!”
With that, he dashed across the deck and embraced the stranger who had just come up from the galley with Leyla…
“Little Grey Wolf!” Omar exclaimed as he knelt down and hugged the boy, “What are you doing here?!”
“I come, talk for warriors! Your tongue!”
“Haha!” Omar laughed and Leyla looked on in astonishment, “You didn’t forget your English?”
“No, I remember our lessons! You great teacher Omar!”
As the Captain walked up, Omar stood up and the young boy held his hand…
“Omar my friend!” The boy explained.
“Blimey! It’s a wee warld!” The Captain remarked, “Sae thes is yer teacher?”
“Yes! Omar good teacher!”
The captain then extended an arm and patted Omar on the shoulder…”Yoo’ve dain a stoatin thing cheil! Withoot his ability tae translate, Ahh don’t think uir toor woods hav gotten much farther!”
Omar smiled and nodded modestly. He seemed to have more life in his eyes now and Leyla affectionately pressed her face against this shoulder. At that moment, the loud voices of the warriors rang out from their canoes below and Little Grey Wolf quickly said his goodbyes and ran for the portside rail, disappearing below.
As the two large canoes pulled away from the ship, the Captain, Commanders Galligan and Kerrislravenhill stood together and watched them depart south, upstream. With strong strokes, the warriors easily overtook the current and in another few moments disappeared around the bend in the river Niagara.
“Keptin?” Galligan said with a sense of urgency.
“Aye?”
“You aim to give all of the silver from the sale of La Serpent away?!”
The Captain paused as he got out his pipe and lit it. Taking a long drag he slowly exhaled a blue cloud of smoke before turning towards him.
“Whit dae ye think was me purpose o' takin' th' Corvette in th' first-place mukker?!”
“Blimey...I could almost see myself in a luxurious black sable fur coat!” Kerrislravenhill whispered under her breath.
